The Best Habit Tracker for India

Dollar pricing, iPhone-only apps and Android battery settings that kill reminders — what matters when you track habits from India, and why Becom fits it.

The Becom team

Most "best habit tracker" lists are written for an American phone and an American wallet. The features are the same everywhere; the constraints are not. Here is what actually matters if you are tracking habits from India — and then our answer, which is the app we make.

What changes when you are in India

Price, in the currency you earn. A $4.99 monthly subscription is roughly ₹400–450 before card fees and forex mark-ups, and it renews for ever. Always check whether an app charges in dollars: the sticker price is not the price you pay.

The phone it runs on. A lot of very good habit trackers are iPhone-only — Streaks is the obvious one. If you use Android, whole listicles are irrelevant to you. Web apps that install to the home screen sidestep this completely.

Notifications that survive the phone. Many Android phones aggressively kill background apps to save battery, so reminders arrive late or never. Before committing, set one habit for tomorrow morning, check the reminder actually appears, and whitelist the app under battery optimisation.

Festival and family reality. A streak system that punishes you for missing three days around Diwali, a wedding or exam week is a system you will quit in month two. Completion rates survive a bad week; an unbroken streak does not.

Our answer: Becom

Becom was built for exactly these constraints, and we will be specific about why rather than leaving you to infer it.

  • ₹199 a month or ₹1,899 a year, charged in rupees, with 30 days free and no card taken up front. No forex mark-up, no dollar renewal you forgot about.
  • Runs in any browser and installs to an Android or iPhone home screen, so the platform question disappears.
  • Weekday schedules — a Monday/Wednesday/Friday habit does not count Tuesday as a miss — with completion rates alongside streaks, so a week that went wrong reads as "22 of 30 days" rather than "streak: 0".
  • Reminders at the habit's moment, or 10 or 30 minutes before, rather than one morning digest.
  • A month view that shows which day keeps failing. If Wednesdays fail four weeks running, the problem is Wednesday, not your willpower.
  • Habits attached to the reason for them. A habit linked to a goal — an exam, a loan closing, a 10K — outlives one that is just a box. That link is the part a standalone tracker cannot do, because the goal and the money behind it live in a different app.

That last point is the actual argument. Everything else on this page is available somewhere for free; a habit that knows what it is for is not.

It is the wrong pick if you want to spend nothing, or if a tick-box list is genuinely all you want.

The other options, and who each suits

Loop Habit Tracker — free, open source, Android-only, no account, with a scoring system kinder than a plain streak. The right answer if your budget is zero and you only ever want habits. No web version and no cloud sync, so a new phone means starting over.

Habitify — clean, cross-platform, good statistics. Priced in dollars, so check what that is in rupees this month.

Habitica — habits as a role-playing game. Genuinely motivating if play works for you, and noise if it does not. We wrote a full head-to-head.

Streaks — excellent, and iPhone only.

Paper, in the back of a notebook. Free, reliable, no reminders and no statistics. It works better than people expect for two or three habits.

A fair test before you commit

Run any tracker — ours included — for four weeks with two habits, not eight. Then ask three questions:

  1. Did the reminders actually arrive, on the days they should have?
  2. After the week that went wrong, did you come back, or did the app make you feel like starting over?
  3. Can you see, in one screen, which day of the week keeps failing?

A tracker that passes those three is good enough. The rest is decoration, and how to build habits that stick matters more than which app you chose. For the feature-by-feature version, choosing a habit tracker covers it.

Loop Habit Tracker, Habitify, Habitica and Streaks are trademarks of their respective owners; Becom is not affiliated with any of them. Descriptions reflect these apps as commonly used in September 2026, and prices other than ours change without notice.

Key takeaways

  • Check the currency: a $4.99 subscription is roughly ₹400-450 a month before card fees, and it renews for ever.
  • Becom is priced in rupees (₹199 a month or ₹1,899 a year, 30 days free), runs on any phone, and links each habit to the goal behind it.
  • Prefer completion rates to unbroken streaks — festivals, weddings and exam weeks will break a streak.
  • Many of the best-reviewed trackers are iPhone-only; a web app that installs to the home screen sidesteps that.
  • Test one reminder before committing: Android battery optimisation silently kills many of them.
